I think you'll find that the person who duetted with Glen Campbell was
Bobbie Gentry (as in Bobbie from 'Home And Away') rather than Bobby
Gentry (as in Bobby Gillespie).
While we're on the subject, can I implore you all to buy her album
'Touch 'Em With Love'? It's blue-eyed soul which carries on from where
'Dusty In Memphis' (another classic) left off. As well as a joyous
rendition of Blood Sweat and Tears' 'You Made Me So Very Happy', Ms
Gentry gamely takes on Mr Bacharach's 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again'
and - do you know? - I think she pips Ms Warwick's version by a short
head.
Meanwhile, has anyone else noticed the (probably deliberate) steal from
Glen Campbell's 'Wichita Lineman' at the end of 'Photo Jenny'? Seeing as
no-one else agrees on the similarity between 'Ease Your Feet In The Sea'
and Omar's 'There's Nothing Like This', I don't hold out much hope,
frankly.
