i mentioned them in one of my first posts, im very much into them
caught them in teh basement of a dorm on the Smith College Campus with
Sarah Daughter from The Lookers who put on a rather dull set her and the
drummer from the same band and a couple other bands
Secret Stars are amazing live very relaxed esp in this setting where
everuone was sitting down intill a SLOP (Stupid Little Obnoxious Punker)
decided it would be lotsa fun to stand up in the middle of the tiny room
in front of about 20 people (GO PUNKERS YOU ARE SOOOO COOOL!!!) and
destroyed the tranquility (i see that guy around town all the time and i
want to trip him or throw coffe at him or somethingg but hes bigger than
me and im too nice to do anything like that anyway (no really i am))
their best song besies whats on Genealogies (the 2nd album) is on a 7"
they put out it has one one side Nightingale which is a fun girl punk
song (not annoying at all) and RPMs which is a beautiful song
has anyone heard Geoff Farina's solo record that came out this year? one
of the prettiest of the year his geetar playing is very soft an drelaxed
and pretty (i used that word too many times i know but it fits so well)
and his voice despite his looking like a very normal boston boy is very
sweet and wussboy sounding
his other band Karate is abit different their new album is pretty good,
the lyrics arent as good as secret stars or his solo but the playing is
very tight, its more indie blues rock type stuff
their self titled album that i have is pretty loose at not an easy
listen for the first few time sbut great
ok i think thats eeverytthing i know about them
