Sinister: blinkers are fashionable today

the you're making blinkers (or blinders in some other versions?) 
fashionable is about a state of mind the girl in the song has.

 She dresses right and reads the'right' books if only to have them in 
her hand at the *right* times and besides the fact that she only 
represents and does not contribute to some kind of zeitgeist she 
nonetheless has the power to approve/disprove/alter people conferred on 
her.

She can sway and alter fashion or what is considered fashionable and 
desireable just by her presence in a room. She is also a little shallow, 
perhaps even unaware in some ways certainly of some human things. The 
blinkers (which she wears) is like the way certain kinds of people will 
just let their eyes glide, ignoring/not seeing those who do not 
immediately pique their interest, thus devaluing them further while 
appearing to some extent just naive and ignorant. It is not ignorance, 
it is far darker and more damaging yet it goes unnoticed, on the surface 
at least.

Maybe other people will copy her cutting but disingenuous behaviour 
because she is cool? Her lack of caring (whatever and ever amen) 
contributes too. She is making her own blinkeredness fashionable just by 
being blinkered-  EVEN if it is only a passing phase for her and she 
couldn't give a damn if she ignores people or not. double apathy.

She sometimes goes to far, but this depends on who is defining how far 
is far.

She is colluding in the press-line making a century of fakers, she is a 
passive victim coming out on top.

any of this make sense to anyone or did I just have too much good coffee 
today??
