Well, that saved me the trouble of trying to find a "nice" way to say
the same thing without appearing to tell people what to do, like a
mean fucker. The list appears to be doing the dying fly at the moment,
lots of legs waving in the air, but not much substance. My mum
wouldn't let me watch Tiswas, except when Tarzan was on. Fat lot of
good it did her, I must say. Anyway, I digress. I put the list malaise
down to the novelty factor of the Sha-La-La list. I feel like an East
German refugee clambering over the fence into the American Embassy
compound, only to find it a chaotic quagmire. I'd try and reassure
people, but it would be like Nicolae Ceaucescu shushing the multitude
from his palace balcony. All I can suggest is to hang on in there
baby. I hope the rearguard troops uphold the regiment's name, and the
citizens who have defecated to the Sha-La-La Republic remember to come
back from time to time. We miss you. remember you're quite welcome to
talk about things other than buses on this list, should you get the
urge.
For instance, you can talk about council house dwellers. I was deeply
moved my the far-fetched notion that there is warmth and humanity in
council houses, I always thought it was the exclusive right of Margot
and Jerry from "The Good Life". On Monday I went to the pictures and
it was a feelgood film about council house scum called "My Name is
Joey" and it was good and it was in Glasgow and there's a football
pitch in it like the one in "Gregory's Girl", an orange one. Yestarday
I went to the pictures and it was a feelgood film from Japan called
"Hana-Bi" and it was very good, most unusual. Today I'm not going to
the pictures.
I have noticed that my crystal ball has been on good form lately.
Everyone loves the film "Happiness". Have you seen it, Brad? I think
you'd like it, it contains some good ideas for what to do with
leftover bodily fluids. Well, one good idea. Also, the once mighty
Juventus football team have chickened out of playing Turkish
superstars Galatassary. I think they should just forfeit the points.
Bob Holness seems to have come up with the goods, I knew he wouldn't
let me down! Unfortunately I didn't hear "Anything Goes" and I found
my address book anyway, but it's nice to know it was on. I'm not in
Chile though, my long-lost friend is. Or was. I love Bob Holness. It's
a shame his reputation is based almost entirely on the saxophone solo
from Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street".
Excellent poem, Stout Robin.
I heard Mercury Rev on the radio, it was very nice and festive, just
right for this time of year. Typically, it's not out here yet, so I'm
planning to purchase a 3 Cd Tito Puente compilation. It's written in
the stars. Afro-Cuban jazz is the tenth type of music I'm hoping to
like.

Whilst in this totally BS free ( :) ) mode, the college bookshop is
advertising a new biography of Keith Moon, and a picture of Keith's
mum
recently appeared in a local scurrilous rag for some reason.
I lust after that Keith Moon biog, I bet there's a picture of his mum,
Mrs Moon the Loon, in it, bouncing her bonny wee laddie on her lap.
The Ox never really realised that Moon the Loon was gone until he saw
Mrs Moon the Loon senior crying at the funeral. I realise that is
slightly off-topic, but I'm hoping Keith Watson will take the bait and
we can continue our attemopt to transcribe the interview sections of
"30 Years of Maximum R&B" in their entirety on the list. I love The
WHO.
I'd better go now.
Keep the faith,
Sister Disco
