. . . and humid, and muggy, and just plain miserable.  but the girls look
lovely, even if they make squishing sounds as they walk because their
sandals are soaked from the sweat between their toes.  it's a lovely
sound, actually.  around this time of year, we floridians start hearing
rumors about this thing called "autumn", but every year, nothing comes out
of it.  it's october, and it's over 90 degrees.  this time last year, i
was in san fransisco.  it was absolutely lovely.  now i am in an air
conditioned room, and it's still hot, and i'm still sweating.  i am
daydreaming of being in france, of listening to belle and sebastian
playing serge gainsbourg songs on the radio, of the emotions that my
limited vocabulary won't allow me to describe when i'm listening to their
music.  

someone asked for the quiet people to come out.  well, i'm one of the
quiet people.  hope you don't regret asking us to come out.

p.s. it's lovely to see other people with interests in the magnetic
fields and the future bible heroes.  i've met stephin merritt and the rest
of the group several times, and they are some of the nicest people in the
world. not as nice as most of you, though.
