well everyone seems to be having a rare old time on the list of late...
can't say i've been enjoying much though, and i've been hitting delete
with heady abandon. i'm probably being the list equivalent of one of
those boring old fuckers who still only play the same records they had
at 16 when they're 32, but i do seem to only find time to read posts by
the old guard. At least they make me laugh... Ah, kids today, they just
can't cut it.

Anyway, here's a few musings:

which made me think maybe the whole shouty rant was ironic. i do hope
so. Anyone who doesn't like mary lou lord and who'd like a giggle is
advised to take a few minutes and go read Everett True's humorous
assault in his 'Hugs and Kisses' article on Tangents. URL at the bottom,
as you regulars well know. ET also has a Magnetic Fields review, which
balances things up rather :-)

I do hope that Honey is getting well, and that he will soon be back
amongst us, doling out words of comfort and wisdom. Tomorrow I am
sending him the Fuxa tape i promised him ages ago, and i suggest that
lots of you follow the advice of ms wagner and send him equivalent gifts
of well wishing.

i am tired and emotional and listening to Hash Jar Tempo, which i found
today and which is divine. 

this morning i played McCarthy's 'Frans Hals' to about 250 15 year olds.
later on they laughed at me. which is fair enough.

the new stereolab packaging is very pretty.
