Sinister: cats and cabbage

One of my cats is eating leftover cabbage on the kitchen table, and i don't know
whether to tell her not to or just leave her to it. Nobody else will eat the
cabbage anyway, so i think perhaps i will let her eat as much as she wants. She
doesn't usually eat cabbage, but then, who does?

I'm sorry if someone's put this up before (i'm on the digest so i'm not sure...
ooh, that rhymed), but with all the northern soul interest going around i
thought i'd share with you this snippet about the bbc radio 2 program that's on
on wednesday night...

In 'All Singing, All Dancing, All Night' (9pm, R2), Stuart Maconie tells the
story of Northern soul, the club scene of the seventies that had at its
epicentre the legendary Wigan Casino, where lovers of obscure sixtie's soul
would come dressed in huge flares, tight vests and flat brogues for
amphetamine-fuelled all-night dancing sessions. He plays many classic tracks
from the genre, including the incredible Tainted Love by Gloria Jones, later
made so famous by unlikely Northern Soul fans Soft Cell.

That's out of the Guardian's 'Guide'. Where it says 'sixtie's', that's them not
me. i thought i'd leave it in for authenticity's sake. And you know what? i
typed that bit up 'cos i love you, even if you do scare me a little sometimes
(so i don't write much messages).

My nice friend lent me his copy of tigermilk the other day, when i stayed at his
house after we went to see Kenickie (but don't get excited, i slept in his
little sister's room). Ooooooooooh, it's nice. It makes me want to hug people.

she's getting less timid, so there's hope...)
