sorry to contribute to this silly argument, clogging your 'in' boxes with
even more useless mail...but! this mishearing is too funny to keep to
myself.
everyone knows suede's lushiously lushious track off their first record,
'breakdown'? of course you do. anyhow, at the end of the song, while
brett is beautifully, torturedly wailing away about volvos in the beautiful
tortured fashion that only beautiful tortured brett can do, he sings the
line, 'does your love only come...?'
or does he? my friend pointed out to me this year, many years after i
first heard 'breakdown,' that it sounds like lovely bretty is singing about
'tostito people,' as in, people made out of the popular corn chip here in
america, tostitos. great with salsa and even a bit of melted monterey jack
(to continue the cheese thread, hey).
listen to 'breakdown' and justify this silliness...
also, another suede mishearing...my goth friend who responds to the call of
'crackhead' (seriously) was convinced 'stay together' was 'stay dangerous.'
not as funny as 'tostito people,' sorry...
there are probably loads more mishearings but why bother talking about it?
...as i continue my day, listening to the diva mix of the club hit *'i want
muscles,'* being played on the stereo of the club kid i share a cubicle
with, quite the diva himself...
sorry for the lack of b+s content.
a very silly, stasia

Well, I listened to "Me & the Major" in the car on the hoof to work today
and as we all now know, it IS mighty funny if the major is a midget...
sorta
sounds at one point like he's singing "me and the midget don't see eye to
eye on the number of midgets..." ? heh heh
My ridiculous ex-boyfriend (from many many moons ago) heard INXS' "Suicide
Blonde" as "soup and salad bar"... and then my pal long ago thought that in
the John Lennon song "Strange Days" or whatever it's called (can't remember
- that's a while ago and it wasn't exactly my fave anyway) he sang "Nobody
told me there'd be neglectees" (instead of "days like these"). Whatever
neglectees are!
I quite enjoy "Photo Jenny." That theme really winds through much of what
they do... photos...
Garbage... aptly titled. How dare they cancel B&S for that drivel?
I'm off to frolic for the weekend starting this afternoon. I expect lots
of
B&S will fill my ears on the long ride home. And I thoroughly anticipate
300 list mails will greet me upon return!
So long, kiddies!
Terri
