Sinister: More FRENCH POP STARS

Philippe and Kevan were discussing French swingin' sixties stars like 
Francoise Hardy and France Gall here the other day,I just wanted to say 
that there also used to be quite a funny male called Michel Polnareff.
When he started in around 1964/65 he looked very handsome and 
unassuming,singing beautiful little songs like "La poupee qui fait 
non","Ame caline","Le roi de fourmis" etc.,just accompanied by his 
guitar,some cellos and a squeaky hammond organ.I tracked down some of 
his orginal vinyl records a few years ago and never stopped listening to 
them.
Unfotunately he later reinvented himself as some sort of 
androgynous,glam - creature,stalking the stage in his underwear,a pair 
of massive shades and a horrific haircut(possibly a wig?).
Sadly photographs of that kind now grace every of his compilatons and 
are surely scarring of every half interested kid.It's a shame,he should 
have left the drag business to people who did it better than him.
Well,he may not have the grace and style of our beloved Francoise and 
France,but his early songs are sweet anyway.Apparently he is still 
famous in Japan today...
I thought I should just mention him,hope I won't get any abuse from all 
you French people.Bye for now...
