that's cool. My mom's a librarian too, at a small library in the Chicago
suburbs...they have a very eclectic music collection because she does the CD
shopping. They own several Smiths albums (Morrissey too!), some Joy Division,
and tons of other assorted indie stuff...she has to buy the popular music, but
she always has me pick a few. The people in my town don't check it out very
much, but a lot of it gets sent to other libraries for people to enjoy.
(They're on a network with 50 or 60 other suburban libraries, and most of them
don't have very large or eclectic CD collections.)

I think Belle and Sebastian is a must for the next CD shopping trip. It would
certainly add to the collection. I'm also going to recommend the purchase of
Quasi's "Featuring 'Birds'" but I don't know if that will happen.

Another amusing aside...I took a test in my grammar class and the professor
mentioned the Smiths in one of the questions. I smiled a *bigbig* smile. After
class, I asked him if he had ever heard of Belle and Sebastian...and he said
no...so I'm making him a tape. I'll convert him yet. And I'd better get an A
on that test for it. *smile*
