Sinister: La Cigale (sans fourmis)

Is anyone on the list going to the show at La Cigale? From my
favourite striking airlines, Northwest, I’m trying to wheedle a free
stopover in Paris en route to DC from Manila (Philippines) so do any
listees know if the date posted to the list (6 October) is tentative
or certain?  

I’m going to try to drag my friend Jean-Michel to the gig but he says
B&S is “un peu trop mievre” - a translation of which might be “a bit
too twee” or “mawkish.”  (Francophones de la liste, s.v.p. aidez-moi
avec cette traduction inexacte!)  Is there a Parisian branch of our
cult (I mean list) organizing a Sinister outing? E-mail me if you’d
like to meet up for the show or for a picnic or something. I will
bring along Jean-Michel, who is preparing for le CAPES and needs an
enforced break, and we can collectively convert (I mean enlighten)
him.

P.S.  Oon, when will you be returning to Thailand?  I was in Bangkok
(clinic in Patpong, so near your flat, I think) for a few days this
week but you were apparently busy raiding all of Glasgow's record
shops!  Vicariously, I am enjoying every moment!  Enjoy yourself at
the gigs and bring back lots of Marmite and digestives.


Y-a-t’il quelqu’un soit en France soit en Angleterre qui voudrait
m’accompagner au concert de Belle & Sebastian a la Cigale? 
Retournant chez moi des Philippines, je pense faire une escale a
Paris le 6 octobre.  Mais cette date est-elle provisoire ou
definitive?  Et savez-vous comment je pourrais acheter des billets
par carte bancaire (et, si possible, par telephone des Philippines!)?

Contactez-moi si vous projetez d’aller au concert et si une jeune
femme anglaise avec un accent atroce ne vous agacerez trop!  Je
sejournerai chez des amis a la rue Coypel (je ne me rappelle plus
l’arrondissement) et je serai tres contente de faire la connaissance
des enthousiastes sinistres (ou plutot “des adherents du Sinister”?!)
a Paris.
