*---* HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINISTER BABIES *---*

Well I was there at Sheps Bush and it was all, well, hmmm. A bit iffy
biffy I thought. What was best was seeing lots of sinister people and
putting faces to names etc. A big shout out to you all and a big sorry
to Charlotte for all my behaviour. And my delightful house guests were a
joy and showered me with gifts - a pneumatic blonde, some booze and a
rather dashing piece of Nottinghamshire headgear -thanks.

But that long wait for the band...I reckon they've got rid of the gaps
between songs and saved them up for one big one at the start (boom
boom!). Now I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose but as it was I
thought the atmosphere was poisonous by the time they got on. And the
charming and gentle way they start their set wasn't the sort of thing to
win over the doubters I reckon. Not unlike Russ Abbot (with whom I also
share a passion for wry humour) I like a party with a happy atmosphere
and to start with we really didn't have one and I didn't enjoy that. If
they'd come out and played "The Boy with the Arab Strap" the way they
did later on I think the reception would have been tumultuous and set
things off much better. But when they did play it it was a stormer and
things really picked up towards the end. In fact after the raffle (god
bless B&S!) I think it really got going.

Highlights
1.TBWTAS
2.That French song that Isobel sang - name anyone??
3.Turning and seeing Honey reclining in the engineers box with Oon
fanning him - respect.
4. New mugs

I also have a new favourite Seb. - Mick Cooke - he RULES!!

xx
John
