Sinister: Space Boy Dream lyrics

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm one of the hordes of newbies who signed up to the list in the last
couple of weeks. And very fantastic the new album is too. Anyway, as a
sacrificial offering to buy everyone's friendship, I worked out the lyrics
to Space Boy Dream last night. It didn't take as long as I thought - only
about 20 minutes (for a song less than 2 mins long!).

To the bloke from Lancaster - I know what you mean. I grew up there, and the
summer I came back from university to find "Closing Down" posters in the
window of the greatest record shop in the world, Ear Ere, was a very sad
one. Still, life goes on.

So, here they are:

I dreamt I had to go up Mars. I’m always kidding on about
going to Mars through the day but faced with the reality of
it, in a dream, I was terrified. And it wasn’t going to be
like a mini trip. There was three of us  going, but we
couldn’t all go into the same ship, we had to go one at a
time, with a day between us. I had to go first, and it was
the thought of passing through all that black space, all
the darkness with nothing in it, and then being the
first one to land there, all alone.

I knew it was supposed to be all dark around, with just a
red surface, but what if I got there and it was light, all
civilised and populated and stuff. So I made a plan.

The other two astronauts were going to be my guiding assistant.
My dad would come first after me, so I decided when I landed
that I would just stay in my seat until he got there, and we
could both get out together, and look around and see what sort
of things were there.

And when I woke up, and I was lying there in the darkness, I
thought I had landed, and I just lay still for a while, waiting
for my dad to get there too.

I'm pretty confident that these are right. One questionable is "like a  mini
trip". I think he says "min' trip", running the two words together. Also,
"guiding assistant" doesn't really seem right, but I'm pretty sure that's
what he says.
