"Trendy Jehovah's Witnessess listen to this band.
It is lo-fi music with the potential to be better, but in reality
misses the mark. Try Trembling Blue Stars. Much better." <
I like the bit about B&S being "not that beautiful" - "well,
they're beautiful, but not *that* beautiful". And the idea of
trendy Jehovah's Witnesses listening to them. What does a non-trendy
Jehovah's Witness listen to then? The Housemartins?
Chris also asked what Trembling Blue Stars sound like. Well, kind of
sparse and fragile, sometimes a little bit dancey, sometimes a little
bit epic. Frequently wonderful, but not very much like B&S. And not
particularly lo-fi, but then I wouldn't have said that B&S were lo-fi
either. Lo-fi always makes me think of scratchy people with out of
tune guitars.
Trembling Blue Stars are on Shinkansen though, so presumably they're
boycotted because Matt from Shinkansen was facetious about Jeepster
on his website...
A cousin of mine used to have a running battle with a duck when she
was a child. Apparantly the duck used to creep up behind her and
bite her on the bottom. In retaliation my cousin used to pick the
duck up, deposit it somewhere unpleasant (usually the dustbin), and
walk off rubbing her hands and saying, under her breath, "serves
himself, serves himself..." I think the duck was probably eaten in
the end, it being the '50s and all.
I've not shagged Gene Simmons yet. But a friend of mine went to
review them the other week, so I have my suspicions. Their new CD
has a really scary 3-D, picture changes when you tilt it type of
thing on the cover; showing Gene with his tongue out (and that's a
*lot* of tongue) if I remember correctly.
