Sinister: Tune It!

I just picked up a copy of "Up a Tree" this week, and have been listening
to it quite a bit. I like it. It's not [Insert Name of Your All-Time
Favortie Album Here], but it's whimsical. And I like the use of the
"idee fixe" - it helps to tie it all together. BUT - my biggest
complaint/criticism has to do with the out-of-tune instruments on "Quiet
and Small." It's a pleasant enough song. I just wish some time had been
taken to tune the instruments before it was recorded. I've heard that
out-of-tune playing and singing can sometimes be used as an expressive
device, but I'm not sure that this is what's happening here.

As for the B&S content of this message - the same can be said for "The
Boy Done Wrong Again." Great song, but the intonation does tend to set
the teeth on edge, doesn't it?
