hello everyone,

right, here's some info for you all (thanks to Steady Mike Jones for the
Ticketweb info):

Camber Sands Festival - April 1999

the festival runs from Friday April 23rd (the site opens at 4pm and
bands start around 6.30pm on the main stage) until Sunday April 25th. 
you may stay on Sunday night, however you must check out by 10am Monday
April 26th.

there will be three bands on stage 1 on Friday, five bands on stage 1
and six on stage 2 on Saturday and Sunday.  Entry to these venues will
be on a first come first serve basis.  the capacity for stage 1 is 2300
and for stage 2 is 900, so if there is a particular band you want to
see, remember there will be another 2999 people onsite and you should
get into the venue well in advance.

when arriving at the site it is vital that you know the name of the
person who booked your apartment if you are not with them. This is how
we will know which apartment you have been allocated.  Only two keys are
issued per apartment.

if you are collecting your tickets on the gate, please bring the credit
card you made the booking with.  Credit card pick-ups must go to the
Western Car Park (this will be signposted).  If it is not your credit
card you must bring a letter of authorisation from the cardholder.  Upon
arrival to site please have all tickets ready to insure speedy entrance
to the site.  Note you will not enter the gates of the site unless you
can show a valid ticket.

everybody must bring a £25 cash deposit to be handed in on arrival, this
will be refunded on departure providing no damage has been caused to
your apartment. if damage caused exceeds the deposit value, the
outstanding must be paid cash before departing the site.  

upon arrival you will be issued with a wrist band. Please keep it on at
all times as replacements cannot be issued. anyone without a wristband
will be asked to leave the site.

please bring two pieces of ID with you [one with an address such as a
bank statement and the other stating your date of birth].  You must have
two pieces of I.D. with you at all times. You will be asked to show this
on arrival, and the bars at Pontins may request this before serving you
alcohol.  Alcohol will not be served to under 18's. No under 14's will
be permitted on the site.  If you are aged 14 – 18 you must be
accompanied by an adult at all times.

you ARE allowed to take glass bottles and alcoholic cans into the site
however you AREN'T allowed to consume them OUTSIDE your chalet ...
therefore it's the "no street drinking" rule.  you MAY be searched upon
arrival to the site however any alcohol you have will not be
confiscated.  

there will be random drug searches on the site.

personal cameras are allowed to be taken into the venues providing they
are 35mm or under.

for all of you who haven't received any information regarding tickets
etc., please phone Ticketweb on 0171-771-2000 and try to sort it out
with them before panicking too much.  

Bedding will be provided in the chalets but no towels.

There is a restaurant on site as well as food vendors, but the chalets
are self-catering if you prefer to cook for yourself.

There is a cinema and games room on site, as well as other activities
such as go-karting, abseiling and swimming. Some of these activities
will carry an additional charge.

Directions:
By British Rail:  The nearest rail station to Camber Sands is at Rye
which is approximately four miles from the Centre.

By Car:  If you take the M20 and leave at junction 10 you then pick up
the A2070 to Brenzett from this you take the A259 to Rye and follow the
AA signs to the site which is on the New Lydd Road.
