You friggin' James Taylors,

What, there is an artist actually too smirky and smart-ass for this list?
Can't imagine!
I reckon it's easier to cuddle up to B&S's precious mystique than a sarky
sing-a-long about coming in a girl's mouth. I found his sub-cabaret wurblings
hard to fathom at first, and perhaps a good melody isn't always atop his
to-do list, but as I once told someone else on this list, Momus' verbal
jousts are a bit meatier than, say, Nick Drake references. I find it hard to
imagine that Stuart Murdoch hasn't been influenced by Momus. Shades of the
birth of Athena, yes? God, my pretention meter just broke.
OKay, get 'Tender Pervert.' Be prepared for way-cheap keyboard sounds, but
his song 'The Homosexual' is sex ed for indie boys and wholly necessary, as
is the entire album.
