Oh Lord...Thom intrigued me enough to actually take a look at what the sea of
idiots hath voted for and I'm amazed. How the hell did Billy Graham change
the face of the 20th Century? He's a fake televangelist for crying out
loud!! He stole millions of dollars from his "congregation" and that
qualifies him to be some sort of impetus for change? The only thing that
changed was that yet another one of his flock lost the $200 that was going to
buy them that John Wayne collector plate from "Big Jake" or a Flo-Bee or a
music box that plays the theme from "Bonanza."
Actually the definition that Time gives for the candidates is a little
sketchy as well. "Who did the most to change the way of life in the 20th
Century." In reality maybe 5 people fit this description at best. Elvis?!
No, I'm sorry Sebediah Shitpants from Tupelo, Mississippi "The King" didn't
do much in the grand scheme of things. Yeah he was probably the most
successful entertainer in history but change the way of life? Hmmm...not to
sure about that one. How about Jonas Salk? Or how about God? I'm suprised
Kennedy isn't up there...oh well
I agree with Thom, a poll this screwy surely needs to get tooled with a bit
more before its all done with. Yet again people have gotten "famous" and
"important" confused so let's run with that idea. Stuart Lee Murdoch for Man
of the Century! Yeeeaaaahhhh!
Don't mean to rant but sometimes things just really confuse me...sorry
Steve C.
