Errr.. i have a distinct problem with hating bands (or liking them) solely
because of their fans. The people who like a certain band are an excellent
indicator of what sort of people would normally like the music, but not much
else. After all, Stuart Murdoch says he likes AC/DC, a band normally
associated with longhaired guys who wear flannel and tight black jeans, and
drive loud cars.

Granted, plenty of crap bands have crap fans as well. I won't debate
that. I just think that "normalcy" is very loosely defined, and there's been
a trend in the last several decades for people to assume that they, along
with a select few, are different from the masses. When in reality they
aren't, simply because there aren't any "masses", just you and your friends,
and people who you lump into other categories.
This isn't necessarily bad. It just is. Or at least it seems that way to
me. I could be wrong.

LONELINESS OF A DISTANCE RUNNER (middle or otherwise)

as far as i know it's not been released yet. Some talk of it being on the
next album, though that may be scurrilous rumor.
