Oh aye JJ don't you worry, I'll be watching that, rocking my socks off. If
AC/DC are good enough for Stuart Murdoch to rock his socks off to, they're
good enough for me.
Another metal fact - we were talking about stuff the other week, the day
the Sun headline came out, and it turns out that Tony Doogan, the Ca Va
Engineer and producer of B+S and the Delgados (and Slartibartfast on chat),
his fave track is Motorhead's "We are the road crew". Top stuff indeed,
although I personally like "Built for Speed" and "Killed by Death" more, as
choice Motorhead cuts.
Did any UKers watch John Peel's visit to Lanarkshire? Quite good,
although Duglas Stewart was still going on about Buckfast wine
Readers should check out the Newtown Grunts who are this Punk band from
Glenrothes, and who now replace the deceased Japs Eye as Fife's finest.
They're great, they're got a song about buckfast too, called "I drink
buckfast", where the singer leaps into the audience and rams buckie down
people's throats. They've got loads of great songs, most of which are
"dedicated to anyone working in the drinks industry", and their signature
tune which goes "You're a cunt, you're a cunt, I'm a Newtown Grunt". Fun
for all the family. They often wind up playing with the Amphetameanies, so
maybe the Sinister crowd will be lucky enough to be able to check them out.
That program was OK JJ, I quite liked it, although a bit too much emphasis
on Sean "Stig of the Dump" Dickson perhaps. His contribution to the world
of Scottish music hasn't been tremendously huge.
I was talking about that picnic thingy we had last April in the last
message, and I figured why don't we have another one? Why not indeed, and
in fact, why don't we make it a bit before the Bowliefest. Anyone up for
that?
Cheers,
Keith.
