I didn't want to embarass Captain Leonard further, but this is a true 
account, and what the hell..

Arrived back from the fireworks (viewed from a car, drinking tea from 
a flask - everyone say awwwww), to find that someone had tried to 
access our answering machine remotely, no doubt using a beer bottle 
to dial.  Further investigation revealed a drunken message in which 
frankly unjustified insults were punctuated with "God bless you" and 
"All the best".  A following phone call from the revellers indicated 
Tag to be suprisingly sober and charming.  Chris, on the other hand, 
on being told off by me for his language :), protested "I thought you 
liked it that way"  and that I was a saint.  He repeated the 
classic drunken insults/maudlin sentiments for a few minutes before 
promising to come and see us.  He later, I am told, was seen 
wandering around bewailing that Miss Julia had left him and chucked 
him, when she in fact had only gone to another party - a fact he 
already knew.  Keith was, seemingly, fairly sober, although further 
examination revealed that he thought that he had left the answer 
machine message.  He must have had some hand in the process tho', 
complaining bitterly that "some woman kept talking to me" .

A top time was had by all obviously, sorry we couldn't be there.

Chris *is* a nice bloke tho - he brought us presents two days later.  
Guilty conscience no doubt.
