Sinister: Even food don't taste that good

Hello my feathered friends,

With the roar of the 11.45 Air Canada flight to Toronto still ringing in my
ears, the Vengaboys video just doesn't make me laugh any more, and my
stockpile of marzipan somehow doesn't taste the same.

On a brighter note, can I join the general feeling of joy at the lively
state of the list right now? It gives me a warm feeling all over. Mind
you, I still miss Tim Hopkins. Times must be hard in the chocolate
consultancy business. And where's Susannah? And R!O!D!? And does David
and Katrina's absence mean we have to rely on hearsay and conjecture from
now on?

I've been to Tampere. It's the home of a thriving Romo scene and the
tallest building in Scandinavia. This building has a revolving restaurant
at the top. Revolving restaurants rule. I had this idea that it would spin
round incredibly quickly, so the crockery, cutlery and waiters would fly
around the room in a comedy fashion, but no, they revolve slowly, enabling
you to get a 360 degree view of the stunning vista below. Very civilised.
There's a Moomin museum in Tampere too. That was very nice. I think I'll
take Wumpkinny to Finland for our holidays this year so I can ravish her in
the sauna. Don't tell her I told you that.

Incidentally, give me the Tamperer over Catatonia any day.

I also want to go to the Ice Hotel they have in Lappland that Genevieve was
talking about. Does anyone know how that works? Do you have to wear Polar
Bear pyjamas?

Why does Mark Cassarato start every mail with an apology these days? Is he
going for the part of Timmy Lumsden in the forthcomong remake of "Sorry"? I
am with Anne on the Paul n'Linda issue, though. At first I thought she was
talking about our very own Paul and Linda, which confused me a little. But
yes, let's not forget Linda's considerable photographing talents, and her
delicious enchiladas, she's not *just* a wife and mother. And I've got a
soft spot for Wings having grown up listening to my Dad's copy of "Ram",
which has "Sitting in the back seat of my car" and "Uncle Albert" on it,
both of which are smashing. The band the Beatles could've been, as Alan
Partridge said.

Felt are pretty good, but the Go Betweens are better.

That's me finished.

Love
