Claire....this is simalar to your joke:

Theres a smartie and a jellybaby in a pub, and they're just chatting and
having a drink when a polo comes up and starts knocking the jellybaby about
and calling him names before going away again. The smartie turns to the
jellybaby and says "why don't you stand up for yourself mate? You've got to
stand up for yourself or you might as well not come out," and he spots the
polo approaching again with Tune, and adds "look, he's coming back again,
come on, heres your chance to do it," and the jellybaby replies, "what!
with that bloody tune? he's menthol....."

well, I laughed.
