someone just used the greeting "hello poptarts" and i
like it quite well, so i'm going to blatantly and
proudly purloin it...
hello, poptarts!
mmm, that was nice. ach! have you newyork listees
realized that the looper show (in 2 weeks, 2 days!) is
part of this silly digital club fest thing? you can
buy a badge for $50 and see all the bands that are
part of the festival (and actually this is quite cheap
and impressive, considering the number of amazing
bands)... some shows you can see individually -- like
looper -- and some you MUST have a badge to see --
like the promise ring, which makes me so, so sad... i
despair of ever catching them live... anyway, i
wonder if, if there's all these privileged people with
badges running around, and the shows are all first
come, first serve regardless, will we have trouble
getting into the looper show? i haven't bought tix
yet, as my paycheck arrives next thursday... perhaps
i'm just a worrier.
oh, the pronunciation thing:

this would be because Standard American English is
rhotic, that is, retaining the "r" sound. except in
places like boston, where the dialect is conservative
-- more like Received Pronunciation. sheesh, i'm a
nerd, but i took this history of the english language
class and.... [trails off and notices the withered
looks on 1,000 faces] oh, well, yes, of course this is
boring and not interesting to 75% of you... i just
find it interesting... oh, i'm doing that
self-centered I Am A Student thing again, aren't i?
oh, okay. fine. i'll be quiet now.
xoxo,
marie
