...the latest tribute single by Elton "Eulogy" John hopefully. (Where
were *you* when JFK Jr. was presumed dead?)

First, any listees that see the Lucksmiths, could you post some reviews?
I'd love to hear about what's going on with our beloved Aussie threesome.
I hear they really packed the Poetry Cafe in London...the word was "sweat"
by those who attended. Is that dope enough? Indeed.

Secondly, I don't think I'm going to make it for the Looper show this
Wednesday here in Philly. Can't be bothered. Don't have the album, don't
like it enough to go or buy it, and plus there are tons of other shows to
see on a shoestring budget...Ladybug Transistor/Beulah/Apples in Stereo at
Nick's on Thursday, the DJ Franco-powered "Foxy Cat" dance night at Silk
City on Friday, and the Magnetic Fields at the Black Cat in DC on
Saturday. Whew! If any of y'all want to say hey, I'll be there with my
girlfriend Adela, she'll be the tall blond one who could pass for Isobel's
more glamorous sister (you'd never catch her wearing Birkenstocks with
socks I'll tell ya that much!), no kiddin'.

Thirdly, Big Stu asked if I (well not specifically me but I'll take up the
gauntlet) would've liked "ER" done by another band. The answer is yes,
esp. if it were New Order. It'd probably have bigger drums, a good Hooky
bass lead, and the lyrics would be almost silly enough to be believably
sung (and created) by Barney himself.

I've gone ahead and declared myself to be Elton John's new lyrical
partner, so here's a rough draft. Sorry Bernie, maybe next one.

"Goodbye Yankee Prince" (Kim/John)

Goodbye Yankee Prince
Of Camelot and Editor of _George_
Brother to Caroline
And son of Jackie O.--
And John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Oh, the press still hounded you
Not because you failed the bar
But you shared your daddy's name

Da da da, dee dee dee and whatever the hell else you want to put in there.

Topically,

Xavier
