Sinister: Celtic are the new rock'n'roll

Tis true. I was at the Celtic v Newcastle game last night and who did I
spot when leaving the ground but Gerry Love (not a great surprise cos I
see him at games all the time), Norman Blake and ..... Stephen Pastel!!
I shit you not, kids, Stephen Pastel was at a football match, and not
even supporting a bunch of shambling losers as one would expect. He
must be trying to live up to the hard-as-nails image that Mistopher
Chris is trying to foist upon him. The game was ace by the way, and the
gamblers amongst you may want to stick a tenner on Celtic for the treble
and Olivier Tebily as player of the season. Newcastle must be certs for
relegation too, they were awful. Especially Shearer.

It was at the Queen Margaret Union in Glasgow ages ago (can't remember
the date offhand) and I think maybe done in Edinburgh that same week
too. I asked a while back for a copy of it too, and no-one offered me a
copy. So if anyone has a copy for madflowr, can I have one too please?
I won't be hurt that you didn't offer last time :)

According the Melody Maker which I stood and read in WH Smiths today,
Pete Waterman wears a Belle and Sebastian badge on his suit, but he's
still never listened to them. And he doesn't begrudge them their
success and doesn't hate them or anything, he's just a bit miffed at the
alleged vote rigging. Can't he just let it lie?

Ooh, is anyone going to the pub in London on Friday night? Cos I'm
getting into Heathrow at 8pm and I may want to drink some beer. It's
going to be sunny on Saturday according to every source of weather
forecasting I have consulted. I take it London doesn't have the same
draconian drink laws as Glasgow (ie you can't drink in parks)?

Love and stuff:
You are all awfully wise, you lot, you really are. I'm scared to give
my twopenceworth as it won't be as good as what you lot all said. But I
used to believe that there was one perfect partner for everyone, and I'd
met mine. Even for the three years after he left me, I thought he was
the perfect partner for me, though obviously the fact that he'd left me,
broken our engagement and was living with someone else should have
alerted me to the fact that maybe I was wrong. I thought it was my fault
and there was no point in going out with anyone else as they wouldn't be
the same as him. But now I reckon do whatever makes you happy, if you
are happier alone then be alone, if someone makes you happy at the
moment, even if you don't think it'll last forever, then try going for
it. How will you know whether it will last forever unless you try it
out? I'm currently embarking on a relationship with someone I
absolutely love to bits as one of my closest friends, and I'm terrified
about it, in case it doesn't last and I lose him as a friend. But I'm
willing to give it a go. I have no idea if it will last or not, if he
is the one for me, or even if I could fall in love with him. But it
seems right just now and we're both happy. I think the problem at the
start of all relationships is that you think "what if someone better
comes along, and I'm wasting my time trying at this one which might not
work". I am very unfortunate to have had the whole stars and rainbows
love at first sight experience, and this kind of makes the start of
every other relationship a bit of an anticlimax in comparison. But hey,
that's what makes life such a challenge.

I was right, that did add nothing to the debate. But it took me ten
minutes to type, so it's staying in.
