(and most surreal ?) in the world.

This "All Tomorrow's Parties" thing.  I must admit, I wasn't keen. 
Same venue, some of the same faces, perhaps even the same ruthlessly
inefficient staff - but, a B&S-inspired event without any members of
B&S ?  One can't help but be reminded of the lame Police Academy
sequels - tragically lacking Steve Guttenberg's easy charm,
unconventional good looks and masterly comic.

Timing.

However, Joss threw his kitten amongst the vultures when he dropped
the following names like so much confetti:

> Stereolab
> Laika
> Tindersticks
> High Llamas
> Plaid
> Salaryman

Which means it's more akin to a Police Academy sequel written by
Donald Barthelme and PG Wodehouse, starring Chris Morris, Steve
Buscemi and Janeane Garofalo and directed by Hal Hartley, David Hare,
Hartley the Hare and Dave Lee Travis.  All a bit futurist avant-retro
neo-bonkers for a double-decker bus to be appropriate this time
though; monorail to the coast, anyone ?

Erlend Hammer signed off a debut post with:

And I laughed like a saucepan.
