Sinister: nick drake fakes and anonymous b&s

well, i went to the york nick drake tribute on sunday and it was hot and
crowded and they played TBWTAS in between sets and some people danced to
it, and there was an odd looking guy with a fur trimmed anorak and a belle
and sebastian bus t-shirt under it.  so that was nice.  and the headlining
act was a sweet shy guy with red hair and a lovely voice.  hmm.

also in attendance was a bloke from uni who has already been noted by my
friends and me for his uncanny resemblance to nick drake (except with
facial hair), a fact which many other people pointed out on sunday in
excited whispers.  but apparently he is a bit of a git, and i bet he can't
sing.

last night i went out with a friend of mine and her fiance, who told me a
rather nice story about (shock horror) belle and sebastian.  he works in a
book/record shop and they're always finding dodgy old stock with no
covers, which is usually awful, but they play it in the shop for a laugh.
well, one day a while ago they found another mystery record, put it on and
the initial verdict was "this guy can't sing".  but then they all found
themselves getting strangely attached to it and playing it all the time,
still not knowing who it was.  and lo and behold, one day it was revealed
to be IYFS....

which just goes to show than B&S win hearts and ears even when no-one
knows them from adam (ant).  so nerrrrr to everyone who thinks they're an
"indie cred" kind of band.

can't remember what else i was going to say/respond to.
