For someone allegedly "articulate" and "intelligent" I don't half get
things wrong sometimes!

And all I can do is apologise (I'll mail you personally Erica, thanks
for writing to me) and just remind people that this is a classic example
of not thinking before you write and the way it can leave people feeling
a bit bad about things. I realise that some things aren't as clear in
print as they seem in your head, I'm certainly guilty of that some of
the time, so to anyone who thinks I was being reactionary to Erica, I
wasn't, well OK I was, but I read what she wrote the wrong way. It's
just a subject close to my heart and I don't like it when I see it being
dismissed or trivialised. I realise this isn't what Erica intended at
all, it was just a misunderstanding, and it's all sorted out now
(hopefully).
Sorry again, I've been rather dull and if any of you want to talk to me
off-list about the whole bullying thing, well you can. I'm sure no-one
else really needs to read my public therapy sessions, I just needed to
get it off my chest and I hope none of you think I'm craving attention,
trying to fulfil an angst-ridden stereotype or any of the other things I
probably seem to be doing. I'm just starting to realise that I don't
have to feel shit about what happened to me when I was a kid, and maybe
talking about it is some sort of catharsis and also it might help other
people too. I realise probably no-one took what Erica said the way I
did, and so all I was doing was talking bollocks and re-iterating a
thread that has been done to death several times before, but I do think
there is a world out there that exists beyond songs like Expectations
and Lord Anthony and Misshapes. I'll leave it at that.
Sorry for being so dull and stupid and reactionary and generally a bit
rubbish. It's probably PMT.
