Hello you lot, 

I'm planning a book. It will be based on my own experiences and will be
mediocre as hell. A study in boredom. Based in the Preston branch of
"Wilkinson Home and Garden", it follows the story of the assistant
manager named Wilson, in the most mediocre life possible. He drives a
Volkswagen golf and sits at home in the small Preston suburb of Lea
drinking fine - but not brilliant - malt whiskey, lighting a cheap
cigarette, and puts his face in his hands. Then he sighs, lifts his hand
from his head, and picks up some paperwork. He goes to bed wearing
paisely pyjamas. 

Are you bored and depressed yet? Good. I plan to write a novel based on
experiences such as that.

I'm listening to the Tindersticks. Beautiful. Wow. SO good!

And what the hell is "Pretty in Pink" anyway? Is it some teen-wank
musical? Admittedly I'm just going on a tenuous link to the "Pink
Ladies" from Grease but never mind. You and your films. Wilsons
favourite film will probably be "Look Who's Talking Too". NO! "Fried
Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Café".

Oh Elle you are so daft - imagine not knowing Jimmy Page! And Dave Grohl
and everyone else laughs at you. Golly. Harvey out of Hawkwind lives up
a mountain just outside an average sized village in Preston. Shall I
introduce you? He used to play acoustical guitar in slightly interesting
coffee shops. But they've shut now.

David Moore, Chelmsford, United Kingdom - the guy playing drums was some
dude from Hefner - the Po Caff stars from way back when, when they were
the latest big thing in some admittedly quite small ripples in puddles.
(I've used admittedly twice, what a restricted vocabulary.)

And comic celebrity moments? I don't know if its comedic, but I'm quite
proud that someone who I didn't know signed my Miffy book and turns out
he is from UBERTWEE popsters the Razorcutz. Har...

I'll leave you now with the interesting fact that funk has replaced jazz
as the dominant influence in drums and bass music. "Oh", I hear you all
say.
