Sinister: The screen becomes my dream/My dream is on the screen

This little missive DOES contain some very loose mention of B&S, so I hope
Honey won't mind. Godard is VERY different from Homer Simpson, let me assure
you all. Let me just say that I think the film snobs AS WELL AS the Simpsons
addicts are integral parts of Honey's brilliant list; I happen to be both.
We are all B&S fans, we have that in common, and I think we can assume that
despite our differences in taste, we are all intelligent and deserving of
respect and a voice on the list. When disagreements arise, if they're played
out respectfully, they just make the list more colorful. :)

The obviously well-viewed, tasteful, and cinephilic Michael Lucey rightly
queried:

>> What happened to film number 7? <<

Film number 7 in my list of fave Godards. Well, actually, I forgot, but I'll
just say it's the lovely 'musical comedy' A Woman is a Woman (also w/ music
by Michel Legrand!). I've also seen and adored Weekend. Godard is a genius
and that's just that.

Mr. Lucey went on to probe:

>> Is Masculin/Feminin the most B&S only because Francoise Hardy is in it?
<<

Actually, no. I thought it was the most B&S because of all the rather
uncertain but well-meaning young people, and also the way it glamorizes (or
at least treats as it they are interesting) the humdrum and everyday lives
of melancholy twentysomethings. Also with bits about "The Children of Marx
and Coca-Cola" it's just too intelligent and sweet to not associate with our
beloved Belle & Sebastian.

I previously asked Mr. Lucey to let me know where, oh where may I obtain
Michel Legrand's pop recordings? CD titles, please? I shall weep into my
pillow until he delivers. Legrand's music for Godard's My Life to Live is in
my top 5 film scores ever.

Goodnight and thank you-

-Chris
