hello my dear morsels of sinister,

it's been weeks since i've been able to post anything, so here you are.  i
bought the gentle waves disc, and *must* side with the vehemently pro-bel
side of the house.  "tree lullaby" and "emanuelle, skating on thin ice" are
positively lovely, and "evensong" is just the greatest waker-upper tune
ever to alight upon human ears.

well, last night i went to the "university of houston honors college fall
semester kick-off party and farewell to the old academic advisor", where i
did behold such wonderful atrocities as keg stands and the beastie boys
being cranked to a loud, shrieking and booming din.  it's amazing how
people approach you when you're dressed in khaki and plaid.  funny, four
years ago, when i wore vintage stuff, i'd have never been afforded the
opportunity to be that much of a social butterfly.  i met lots of people,
including one guy who wants to, get this, quit school and join ... the
marines (!) he's doing fine, he just "wants to fight".  he is a rather big
and angry bloke, and speaks in staccato puffs of hot air.  nice chap,
though, for all that...

well, i'll sign off now.  off to eat alsatian food with the maternal one!
