Hello again,

I wish I had something to apologise for as that seems the current thread
so I'll give it a go. Who would think that 80's pop with that bloke with
the whiney voice and rockabilly quiff could raise such a fuss eh? Like
the Sleater-Kinney thing previously I always had a voice barrier with
the Smiths. All personal opinion of course and the guitar intros are all
very dandy but when said wearer of said quiff chips in his two-penny
worth it doesn't work for me anymore. So naturally I always say I hate
the Smiths when asked. Though I was converted into liking "Please,
Please, Please..." maybe due to its shortness. As a wise man (or closet
Tennis fanatic) said earlier:

"What better place to have hatred? In fact, I can't
imagine how it is possible to love pop without hating because pop, for
me, is so bound up with self identification and picking more or less
arbitrary sides..." - Tim Hopkins

I must concur.

And while I'm ranting I'll also have to disagree with Lesley's pro- Abba
stance. I think they're utter shite, I don't like "Shuttap ya Face" or
Renee and Renate's "Save my Love" (I can't get the last two out of my
head for some reason again it must be a summer thing) but as least I
don't have to listen to them everywhere I go. Though I must agree about
Madonna though as I love Get Into the Groove and was very distraught
when I warped my 12" when I was a lad (I hope that's taken out of
context).

Anyway, which day is the preferred choice of picnic-ing in London this
weekend. As I don't want to go twice as I hear you can overdose on
Scotch Eggs and Quiche. Also never mix your savouries.

Must dash some band's on MTV or something...

Te ra,

Martin
