Sinister: bowlie weekender fun, and a strange happening next week

BBC Radio 1 are making a documentary about the Bowlie Weekender (which is due to
be broadcast on the Monday evening after it all takes place). As well as
interviewing bands and harassing Bluecoats, they want to find a chalet full of
bright young things who wouldn't object to a Radio 1 reporter following them
around at various stages of the weekend, and capturing a few magic moments on tape
- the laughter, the tears, the vomiting, etc... and everything that you thought
was special and not so special about the weekend.

Ideally you'll be an evenly mixed chalet of girls and boys (in the interests of
sexual equality), preferably HUGE B&S & indie fans, and be well up for talking
endlessly on the radio!

secondly a reminder to B&S fans in and round London that next week on Thursday
11th a few fans have put together a wee B&S disco/club/convention in New Cross.

entitled '200 troubled teenagers', the flyer states that it is 'an evening
dedicated to the scottish group Belle & Sebastian. featuring music from all their
EP's and LP's - including Tigermilk and related records.'.

their will also be a music from the records of The Pastels, Nick Drake, Stereolab,
Scott Walker, Francoise Hardy, Momus, The Pale Fountains, et al.

the event will be at the Paradise Bar at 460 New Cross Road in London SE14 from
9pm until 2am. it's £3 to get in, or £2 with a UB40, NUS card or B&S badge/shirt.
it's about two minutes walk from New Cross tube and rail station or catch the bus
(53, 36, 21, 177).

most of us will be there, as will james from radio 1, so if you can make it
that'll be really cool.
