Sinister: Britney and me

Hello angst-ridden teenagers,

Nice to see Sinister has turned into some sort of retirement home for
parodies of Smiths fans recently.

I went to see Looper last night in Picc Recs, and at least 4 other
Sinisterines were present. Fluffy was particularly resplendent with a
Calvin and Hobbes cartoon stuck to her jumper. Looper were good
although there was an excrutiating moment where no-one whatsover
clapped after the first song. That's Manchester for you.

Given that the Stephen Hawking machine was saying "thank you" after
the rest of the other songs, it's just as the applause began,
otherwise poor Stu D would have egg all over his face. It says a lot
for his confidence in the technology at his fingertips that the Looper
machine could also say "I'm so sorry" when technical hitches occured.
I'm very impressed with the Looper LP too. Nice to see they used the
Duke's ideas to such spectacular effect.

Anyway, I've been hearing all sorts of things about the Bowlie website
from various spies. So off I trotted to see what the fuss is about.
These are my favourite bits, all sound advice I'm sure you'll agree.

>bring some pyjamas, afterall, most of you are sharing your chalet with people you only loosely know.

We're sharing a chalet with Chris Leonard and Keith and you don't get
much looser than that.

>remember to bring some condoms! and no, we're not joking.
>
> if you're a girl, i know it's taboo, but remember to pack your sanitary care and bits.

I wonder if it says that on the Monsters of Rock festival website:

But Sister Disco the Immaculate can:

>I agree that The Corrs are diabolical, but I quite like that song they've done with The
>Chieftans. I bet they all had a right old orgy after recording that, with the little fella who
>looks like Benny Hill's mate taking the initiative. And then I bet they had a nudie fart contest,
>and the drummer won.

My father is a Chieftains groupie. There are some extraordinary
revelations in their biography, which I bought him for
Christmas...apparently while Derek Bell, the harpist, played,
seemingly rapt in study of the sheet music, he was in fact reading
"Big Knockers and Hot Front Bottoms" or some such publication of
dubious morality.

>I've seen three films this week, award winning Joey Deacon epic "The
>Idiots", award winning Ronan Barret epic "The General" and award
>losing crime caper "Serial Mom" by John Waters. Can you guess which
>one was best?

I hope it was "The Idiots" cos I've got to go and see it next week.
It sounds positively filthy and possibly criminally insane. I'll let
you know.

Love tag xx
