it is isobel on the sleeve of "the boy with the arab strap", isn't it?
someone said something about her photos on stuart david's belle &
sebastian site - about how the shadows were working for her - and the same
might be true here because it was only after i had seen several of the
black and white photos like that that i made the connection.  but i
wouldn't want to be mean and say she aspired to be a cover star the way
one might of courtney love.  but my confusion must be understandable
because the only photo i had seen of her before was the one where she is
wearing overall style shorts and standing next to sarah.

here is another mystery.  all the reports i've heard suggest that isobel
is sort of stand-offish but is that because she is shy or because she has
made herself into someone different?  is judy the kind of girl that stuart
would fall in love with or only the kind of girl he would write songs
about?  was it inevitable that isobel would make herself over in order to
be loved by stuart and or did she gain confidence from that and then
blossom or fade (whichever way you want to look at it)?  or are they just
photos that have nothing to do with the way people really are?

where in america do people say "hey kool-aid"?

i agree with the person who made the point about street sweepers.

a long time ago, someone mentioned lloyd cole.  would you agree that
rattlesnakes is the best album and on it, rattlesnakes and four flights up
are the best songs with are you ready to be heartbroken as runner-up?
