hello fellas.
so much for the first day of spring. it snowed six inches here last
night. how depressing.
anyway, i am writing the list today for a couple reasons. first, i was
privileged enough to get a tape of the black session today. i must say
that i really like the version of dirty dream #2....quite fabulous. i
also am quite fond of "i don't love anyone," which is the first song
that i've heard from tigermilk. hearing it makes me not want to wait
another 2 months for the re-release. is matador picking up the release
in the states or will it only be available on import via jeepster? i
don't know. oh another thing about the black session...i swear the
beginning of "sleep the clock around" before the vocals come in sounds
exactly like the chorus of "tomorrow" by james. does anyone else find
this odd comparison to be true? or am i just going nuts? likely the
latter.
ok guys, here's the *real* reason i'm posting today. i need your help.
see, as i think i said once before, a long long time ago, i am a dj for
my college radio station. every week the station does a show called
"artists only" where we play 2 hours of a particular band. the first
week of may, i was planning on doing a show on blur, but i quickly
realized that my blur discography was quite incomplete. today i got a
rather bright idea. how about two hours devoted to belle & sebastian?
good idea, eh? anyways, i got the idea ok'd by my program director this
evening, so i need to get working on putting the show together. and
since this show is in the beginning of may, before the tigermilk
re-release comes out, here's where i need help. would any of you kind
souls out there be willing to send me a tape of tigermilk? also, if
there are any other radio sessions other than the french session that
some of you may be able to offer me, i would appreciate it soooo very
much. and of course, to anyone who is able to help me out, you would be
duly recompensed with a tape from me :) so if you are interested in
helping out, please contact me at polystyreneman64 at hotmail.com. thanks!
oooh another thing. i'm going to london for a couple weeks in july.
very exciting. i've never been abroad before so i'm thrilled at the
opportunity. perhaps i can meet some of you while i'm there! hmmm time
for me to go do work now. god i hate college sometimes. g'bye for now.
