Sinister: raindrops on roses and teapots in windows

it's funny, no matter how many times i type 'sinister' i still keep
getting it wrong. it must be one the easiest words to mistype ever
(character is also tricky i find). but maybe this is just because of
my own personal style of typing, ie. quite quickly but incredibly
inefficiently with two fingers.

alix, i have a teapot story to share. i was sitting in a cafe (owned
by someone i know slightly) and was just admiring the teapot
collection which they had arranged on the window sill. i was
particularly taken with an orange one with flowers on, and the owner
noticed and promptly gave it to me. now how often do you get given
teapots in cafes? not that often, i would say, which is why i suppose
i can't really recommend this way of acquiring said items, but still,
it made my day. there could almost be a b&s song about it. 'the girl
with the teapot in her sainsburys carrier bag'.

you know, it's *not* just the music press who put labels on fans. fans
do it themselves too, you can't pretend otherwise. and yes, perhaps
we should 'get used to it', but it just seems sad that sometimes
people can only feel good about themselves by attaching themselves
to a band, a look, a proscribed lifestyle. (naturally i don't include
the universally well-balanced sinisterines here...)

oh, it's so lovely that someone's getting married! yuk, that sounded a
bit gushy, but i just think it's nice. probably since all my friends
think i'm going to be a bitter old maid due to foolish things i said
in my youth (well, last week probably.) i haven't dared to do a public
u-turn, drop my feminist stance and confess that i've been looking
longingly at wedding dresses. i expect it's because it's spring.
anyway, music: perhaps 'my wandering days are over' would be
appropriate? although overall it's not particularly cheery i
suppose.

right, i'm off on holiday for a bit. see ya. (perhaps in the flesh at
a picnic, who knows? i'll be the one not wearing indie glasses etc...)
