I splashed out on a magazine today........

Er, lets start again. I meant to say that I purchased the May Record
Collector today, because of the Belle and Sebastian feature. However its
poo, so I don't advise any of you to do the same. Errors of fact, same old
tired quotes & the same infamous press shots. Apart from B&S coming 131 in
the readers poll of the top 500 collectable artists (with a bullet from
last years 329), the only other thing  of interest (at least to a indie
geri like me) was that my first big gig (Knebworth 1) was 25 years ago, so
they're re-releasing the posters of the 74-76 gigs. Tim Buckley bottom of
the bill in 74, & that other Tim, Mr P!O!Pkins probably missed his heroes
Pink Floyd headlining because he hadn't even started school yet in 75. 

Another don't buy warning: the Lucky Pierre 7" I found in HMV which would I
fear be of interest only to the most anal Arab Strap collector (new in this
year at 424)


Apologies to Kara Baer for reviving unpleasant memories of a loathed
childhood nickname. No offence intended, **** Bears were never objects of
derision in our household. 


Honey, how come us Digest Readers don't get the nambling pambling rice
pudding stuff in our footers? - its not fair!
