Sinister: I don't like summer. Like a gay bee, I come out in hives...

hello you

There's nothing wrong with Pirouette
Park!! Okay, so maybe it's not *hard*,
but then again, it is the only area with
an explicit Belle and Sebastian
reference in its name! Plus, all the
best people were there, of course. and
it had a pink ostrich as its logo.
Admittedly we missed out on the remote
wanking device, but we did hear someone
playing 'Away in a manger' on a kazoo
through the wall. Horrible decor
though, our chalet. The light-shade
scared me.

Highlights of Bowlie:

Well, you've heard them all before, i
guess. But the impromptu gig in the car
park was just great; from then on i knew
we were in for a superb weekend.
Cornelius was fantastic - i only wish
i'd seen the whole show. Jon Spencer
rocked and rolled, as ever. And those
Glaswegians, well they just ruled! I
must say, Winter Woofter is much better
than Paper Boat, not nearly as, ummm,
catchy? (irritating!)
More Flares and NHS specs than you can
shake a stick at.
And, I bought Tigermilk in one of the
shops in Cambersands. Only £4.50. Made
in Macedonia.

Lowlights of Bowlie:

Missing the football, the picnic(s), and
the beach party.
Mercury Rev - I saw them a few months
ago and they were incandescent; but at
Bowlie, after being on tour for months
and months, they seemed tired, on
heroin, and.. well,... their songs had
gone a bit Aerosmith, if you know what i
mean.
And, of course, the Pontin's camera-kill
squad. I was right next to a girl who
had the film ripped from her camera
during B&S, and it was so unnecessary
and just a bit cruel, I thought.

stina's great - the first two albums are
gorgeous, sweet and strange, quite
minimalist. the third album grew on me,
but it took a while. she's done a
covers album, but that one's just scary!
i say 'covers', but she only seems to
have used their words, and made up her
own weird tunes - very dark and, ummm,
well i don't really like it. I know
Honey is a huuge fan, so I shall
probably be expelled from the list for
blasphemy, but it isn't exactly easy
listening.

Speaking of which, i just bought a Free
Design album (Kites are Fun), and it's
rather nice. Could anyone in the know
please recommend me with another of
their albums, as there are quite a few
and i can't afford them all!

The new Luna album's quite nice -
there's a rather good cover of 'Sweet
child o'mine' on it! Much better than
their last album, at least that's my
(humble) opinion.

Ah well, I've gone on far too much
already, so I shall stop here.

P.S. whoever recommended going to see
Prolapse, you've made my mind up - i
shall go tomorrow. But if they're pish,
i shall be forced to kill you.
