Sinister: Geoff's Drowning in Oxo!

Oh the comedy of mis-hearing lyrics. I'm sure I've just heard the singer out of Sleater-Kinney screaming about Geoff and his Oxo difficulties. The Sinister section on this subject is very funny. "Me and the midget" makes a lot of sense.
Tripple X-Weeejay asked about which book to get. Of the ones on the list I've only read "The Great Gatsby" but in my opinion it's brilliant. Very easy to read, and very evocative too. I've read bits by the other writers but not the books you mention. Fitzgerald is very good though.
Someone else mentioned Camus. I read "The outsider" and some short pieces and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. Am I missing something?
Watching TV the other night I saw this bloke in a gaudy yellow suit and lots of make up singing away. "Blimey" I thought, "Bryan Ferry's looking rough" but it wasn't. It was that bloke out of The Go Betweens. Ha ha.
Last night I went to see Mel and Sue (of Light/Late Lunch fame) and they were brilliant. Really funny. They do a hilarious take off of Kraftwerk/ Gary Numan/80s robot synth pop. I laughed meself silly. Go and see em if you can. Like a sad fan I queued up afterwards to meet them and they were very friendly.
On that subject and the recent kerfuffle on this list I believe that you should be try and be friendly, and if you can't be friendly you can at least be polite. Just cos you think someone's a wanker you don't have to tell them. If someone annoys you in the playground then just go away. And while I'm at it I'm not really twee. I play football, I'm a Sunderland supporter (congratulations Peter et al) and very often I'm a right cynical bastard. I'm shy by nature, not by choice. Am I rambling now? I think so.
Love
 Rob
