Sinister: Bagpipes and Tigermilking - faites vos jeux!

Following honey's lead, I am going to attempt to reduce my hitherto
rambling, pusillanimous phrasing into Hemingway-esque soundbites. Bet it
doesn't work. Oh!

Gambling in the fields...hmmm...Bowlie - chalet 650. Den of iniquity and
decadence. Ailsa's entire savings on red 27. Fluffy's loading the
multiples-of-three line, Alasdair's dreaming of nutmegging the bald one out
of Camera Obscura and forgets to put his chips on at all. The wheel
spins...like an eternity...Vicky takes the opportunity to sneak the Divine
Comedy on the stereo while no-one's looking...

Red 27. Bugger me. That's the last time I bankroll a casino.

Except it didn't happen, as my chalet mates were too poor to risk their beer
money. Pish.

Oh bugger, writing short sentences is just too, erm, oppressive. Can't do
it. Anyway, after Jake's rude words about the bagpipes, I thought I'd better
stick up for them a bit. A couple of weeks ago, I got within a mouseclick of
bidding for some pipes on one of the internet auction sites. 150 quid or
thereabouts. Cos I think they make just the most fantastic noise. I've loved
that sound for the best part of 20 years, I love the drone, I love the way
the most uncompromising harmonies are created and make a mood unlike any
other. I think it's simply fantastic, and when they're played well they are
*the* most beautiful and evocative instrument. I think they're pretty much
wasted on Sleep the Clock Around - sanitised and muffled, but it was still a
nice gesture. More pipes in P!O!P! please...

Anyone who fancies dancing and grinning like a buffoon and is in London on
June 11th simply *must* come to A NIGHT OF TIGERMILKING at Upstairs @ the
Garage. It'll be a spectacular night of frolics, mayhem, and  choons you'd
sell Tim Hopkins for. Promise!...further details can be found here...
