well, i could not rest until the whole matter was settled...so here is
what i found out about dr.claw's cat on an inspector gadget site:

            MAD CAT: "not much can be said for this evil cat ...it has a
*sinister* smile with a tooth missing...and the cat is a little on the
heavy side."

i hope that eases some of your worries for the day.

oh, and to clear up another matter, the name of the woman who had an
affair with fellow listee, j.d.salinger, name is joyce maynard...she had
written an article that had impressed the aforementioned listee when she
was eighteen, and proceeded to have an "affair" with the guy when he was
50 years young.

she was said to be "the embodiment of Pheobe Caulfield"...which is what
i thought of when first seeing a photograph of her when she was 18...
