that's a really nice story. maybe it explains why stuart was reported to
have been grinning like postman pat (another british film/tv character?)
at bowlie. not that he would gloat or anything.

Therefore, "in the mud,

(this is the line that shows she's not a prostitute, just a keen amateur
:)).

the line before "anyone, all the time" puts an entirely different twist on
it, doesn't it? i think jane is trying to remove the DOUBLE STANDARD.
she's trying to show that she's in it for herself, but sadly it doesn't
work that way 'cos what's the use if everyone else thinks you're a victim?
i thought the line-painter part meant that jane might be a painter of
lines on freeways (or do you call them motorways?) which would explain why
she sleeps at bus stops 'cos it must be a job like truckdriving but then i
guess she works the village shop ... or maybe painting lines is what you
do before you paint pictures and everything fits together? aha! "working
the village shop" doesn't mean working at the village shop - so she's
advertising something - her artwork ...

there are many puzzling things in this that i could not find an answer to
in the archives.

1. what exactly is a dose of thrush? how come you can get it in 2 ways?
2. what is QC in the sleeve notes?

i see now that appearance is only the surface of substance and regret any
part i played in shifting attention in that direction.

ps what does the subject line white horses refer to?
