Sinister: a simple way to go faster than light that does not work

hallo all
on the converting friends to b+s thing:  i tried to get one of my friends to
listen to b+s, and after like a month of badgering, he finally agreed to.
so, i brought the album over to his place [it was boy with the arab strap
btw]  and threw it on the record player for him... after like 5 minutes at
most, he proclaims that it was "tree hugger music" and that i should go "hug
some trees with the other hippies at some protest".  incenced, i had to
prove to him that i wasn't a hippie, or indeed a non-violent protestor, by
beating him about the head furiously with the album cover.  ok, so that last
part wasn't true, but rest assured i gave him the frowning of a lifetime.

of course he is a jazz purist [tm], so to him, if not miles davis, then
utter crap.  i of course, am the exact opposite :]

if any of you have read the commitments by roddy doyle, you may remember a
rant that joey the lips spews about jazz and a memeber of the band named
dean, saying it corrupts people's soul, etc.; and at the end he blames miles
davis...  the funny thing is, the passage in the book perfectly describes my
friend and his "corruption"; the kinda freaky thing is, both the character
in the book and the friend in question are named dean...

i'm sure there's an oliver stone conspiricy in here somewhere.  well, either
that or a scooby doo mystery, i'm not sure.
