Sinister: Breadbin Backspin

Me and Mrs Sister Disco went to Saint Jean de Pied de Port yesterday,
best known as the setting for Nouvelle Vague children's television
series The Flashing Blade!* It's exactly the same as it used to be,
except with Renault Clios instead of horses and baseball caps instead
of Laughing Cavalier outfits. Half way up the Royal Mile there's a
shop selling books and t-shirts and music. Most of the music (and
books and t-shirts) was of the Basque variety, which means
accompanying yourself on a tambourine as you see how many times you
can mention the name of your country during each song. But they also
had TWATTYBUS. And you can't say fairer than that. I mean, it's quite
a small town.

That Stuart Murdoch diary thing was good, wasn't it? Especially this
bit:

If you have any queries or problems about how to be a student, or what
bus
to get, or whatever, you may write to me care of 'Guardian'.

I wonder what the address is? It's very nice of Stuart to offer, and I
think it's up to us to make him feel that his kindheartedness hasn't
fallen on stoney ground. It's not the first time he's offered help
either. I remember him saying that what he liked most was making
people a cup of tea and listening to their problems. And then writing
a song about them, probably.

Does it really take twenty weeks to get a record out once it's
finished? I don't know what the world's coming to. Apparently, Slade
used to do the whole process in a week, and their records were much
better than anything on Jeepster, except Slow Graffiti.

I am too frightened to go and see Blake Witch Project, even though
it's dubbed.
