Sinister: Twee? Not me. Fey? No way.

Good evening one and all,
   I was feeling poetically inspired for a minute. From the fluttering of feathers I thought The Poetry Parrot had come my way. But no. Approaching the strange being I plucked up the courage to stammer "What manner of strange beast are you?" A strangled mewling voice replied "Err....The Couplet Cockerel". On closer inspection it was next door's cat with rubber gloves on its head and a feather duster up its
Khyber Pass. 
  Jarkko gave us those bits of interview with Hefner's Darren. I don't agree with his point that those who really love music will drop names of obscure bands into conversation. Some people love The Beatles or Elvis or Frank Sinatra with a fervour bordering on the ecstatically religious. And they're hardly obscure. I think he's fallen into a bit of hipper than thou snobbery there. And I don't love or hate Hefner either. Some of  their stuff I think is lovely (like "The Hymn for the Things We Didn't Do" or the last one on "Breaking God's Heart"), but some of it is too mannered and tortured for me. Hope this isn't sounding grumpy but I get really annoyed with all the Indie Cred stuff. It seems so pointless.
  What's your current favourite B&S moment? Mine is the bit in "Beautiful" where the trumpet solo stops and the strings slide down. Brilliant. Brian Wilsonlike in its genius.
