hi folks,

starry, i know you didn't like the whole quiet guitars thing on
the first hefner album, but they've figured out how to switch
them on since then, so you might like them more now.  i wonder
what napalm death would sound like with the guitars turned off.
would "multinational corporation" have quite the same impact
when played in a folky indiepop style?  perhaps glampam (and
those of you flying over especially from toronto) could fiddle
with the fusebox at their upcoming gig and find out for us.

hmm, don't think i like the idea of being a sheep very much.
besides, i had an intimate encounter with an excited goat once,
so i think i owe them something.  a mouthful of goat spittle
at the very least.

yes, there is a goth band called "belle and sebastian" who are
much beloved by the duke, and there is also an indie type band
called "belle & sebastian" who are much beloved by the duke.
they are completely different bands in much the same way as iain
banks and iain m banks are two different writers with similar
names.  you can tell because one group is made up of eight pale
faced youths in black, and the other is made up of seven pale
faced youths in cardigans and richard colburn.

yes, they do make their cds in a garage, it's a bit like when
the a-team get cornered by baddies in a workshop full of power
tools and come bursting out in a diy tank with all guns blazing,
only more twee.  then, at the merest mention of an international
tour isobel twitches her expansive jewellery and tells murdoch:
"i ain't goin' on no plane, fool."
