Sinister: i could only make you cry with these words

well thanks a bunch owen - i was woken up at some ungodly hour this morning 
by the poetry parrot pecking at my skylight and screaming that he was being 
chased by kittens, despite his protestations that he was not in fact a 
daurian starling.  i asked him why he couldn't use the doorbell like everyone 
else, but he replied that he was a metaphor and so did not have to follow 
such conventions.  he is currently picking over the meagre bones of my 
creative output and laughing scornfully, but i've warned him that if he 
doesn't behave himself i'll make his feathers into quill pens.

don't quite know how inflicting one of my own poems on you will inspire you 
to contribute to my little project, unless it's through anxiety about me 
filling it with other such pieces because of a lack of any submissions.  but 
thank you very much for the plug, owen.  may your pointy hat be blessed.

someone has a grade school crush on me!  this should happen far more often.  
having given up sex in favour of fireworks and knitting, i am quite happy to 
be crushed on by gay men who won't break my heart.  but since i have a crush 
on fiona too, adam, we may be embroiled in a grade school love triangle 
before we know it.  in fact i have a fair few innocent, rosy-cheeked, 
non-sexual, apple-on-desk type crushes on listees, because let's face it 
you're all just lovely, and can hold my hand in the dinner queue any time.

i finally saw funkyseb on tv last night, a flash of talent and beauty in the 
middle of coronation street.  i looked up from a crucial stage in my knitting 
(had to go out for wool supplies today, but i'm storming ahead with it again 
now) and there he was.  i do truly feel sorry for US listees now.

the poetry parrot is nagging me for a share of the beans on toast i'm just 
about to make, so i'd better go.  funny how he forgets he's a metaphor when 
it comes to food....
