MOGWAI PICK PARTY PEOPLE

Mogwai Fear Symposium
MOGWAI will headline and help choose the line-up of the rescheduled All
Tomorrow's Parties festival, which will now take place at Camber Sands holiday
camp from April 7-9.
The band have earmarked acts as diverse as Digital Hardcore's Bomb 20, funk/soul
legend Isaac Hayes and Steve Albini's Shellac to play the festival - the
follow-up to the Belle & Sebastian-organised Bowlie Weekender held last spring.
Promoters Foundation originally planned to stage All Tomorrow's Parties in
September but pulled the plug after poor ticket sales. Stereolab, Tindersticks
and Tortoise were originally due to play.
Foundation boss Barry Hogan told NME: "We're hoping the majority of the bill
from September should be available for next year's event. However, there may be
those who will be unable to play due to recording or other touring commitments.
"This is where Mogwai will add their own spin on the event. They've given us a
list of over 70 bands they'd like us to approach and there are some very
interesting names on it."

Mogwai frontman Stuart Braithwaite said: "Bowlie was refreshing because half the
bands weren't there because of greedhead agents foisting their half-arsed cack
soon-to-be-has-been shite bands upon those who dare to get up before six
o'clock. This event was clearly something that was close to the organisers'
hearts, as shall ours.
"If all goes to plan then some of the best bands and musicians in the world
shall be playing Camber Sands next April. And there's a beach. And a swimming
pool. And Symposium won't be playing. Religious miracles will occur."
All tickets bought for September's All Tomorrow's Parties are still valid and
more are now on sale at £90, subject to booking fee.
